More than two centuries ago Captain William Bligh sailed the Bounty into the bay of Wakaya and discovered an idyllic Eden in the heart of Fiji’s archipelago. Over 200 years later Canadian entrepreneur David Gilmour and his New Zealand-born wife, Jill, dreamed of creating the ultimate unspoiled tropical haven on this virtually uninhabited island. The Gilmours, together with a village of 140 Fijians, have preserved the serene spirit and breathtaking beauty of this island paradise. The Island remains the jewel in the crown of the Fiji Islands today.

Villa 701 stands on a promontory overlooking Wakaya’s longest white sand beach to the west and neighboring islands to the east. From here, you will experience the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets anywhere on the planet. We invite you to luxuriate in this private hideaway and everything it has to offer.

Art/Design
Villa 701, an impeccably designed and furnished three-bedroom villa, has been called "the finest house in the South Pacific." To be a guest here is a “limited edition” experience. The 12,000 square foot Villa is decorated with Asian antiquities. The attention to detail (including exquisite Clarence House fabrics and custom Limoges china) is without peer in this sublime home.

Living/Dining Pavilion
This area is an immense, open-air room that also features a beautiful sunken bar. Here you can entertain guests, or enjoy a private dinner prepared by the Villa's chef. The living pavilion is very comfortable for simply relaxing and enjoying the sunrise/sunset, or watching a video and reading a book.

Ourtdoor Decks
A deck wraps around the Living/Dining Pavilion offering incredible views of the island. Additionally, each bedroom has an ocean view deck for enjoying the glorious views.

Master & Guest Pavilions
The bedrooms in both the Master and Guest Pavilions are similar in size; all three feature king beds with comfortable sitting areas. The Guest Pavilion is located down the covered walkway from the Living Pavilion and is comprised of two separate bedrooms each with its own private bath. The Master Pavilion is located down the walkway from the Guest Pavilion and features "his and her" walk-in closets plus "his and her" bathrooms, one with a 6 foot soaking tub and the other with a large stall shower.

Bathrooms
The Living/Dining Pavilion includes a powder room. The Master & Guest Pavilion bathrooms are quite large and each includes a bathtub with separate shower and bidet. All imaginable amenities are provided in the bathrooms, including Crabtree and Evelyn products.

Pool Area
The cliffside swimming pool area has a waterfall feature and 4 person Jacuzzi facing west overlooking Homestead Bay and across the Pacific to Levuka (the 19th century whaling and sandalwood capital of Fiji). Facing east you will see neighboring islands as well as the beautiful Wakaya shoreline.

Dining
You will have your own private chef. The chef specializes in Pacific Rim cuisine comprised of locally caught seafood and organically grown produce. You have the option of enjoying your meals in the privacy of this gorgeous island estate, or you are welcome to dine at the Club's renowned Palm Grove restaurant.

Laundry/Housekeeping Services
The Gilmours’ personal staff of six (including a hostess, housekeepers and groundskeepers) is on hand to fulfill your every desire.

Chauffer Service
A private driver is on-call for you throughout your stay. Within 5 minutes, a driver is available to chauffeur you to any part of the island. The Island Club is just a short drive from the Villa.

Massage
Enjoy the experience of restorative massage therapy either in the privacy of Villa 701 or down at the Club.

Tennis & Boules Courts
A lit tennis court pavilion and private boules court are among the features of the Villa. With a little prior notice, the Club's expert staff would be happy to join you at either of these games should you desire.

The  Club
Use of all Club resort amenities is available to guests. The Club is the perfect place to do everything or nothing at all. It has arguably the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the world. If you are a certified scuba diver, you are most welcome to bring your own equipment, but you really don’t need to bring a thing. The Club provides guests with a full range of top quality gear. The Club offers private instruction from certified dive instructors, a scuba diving guide on all dives.

The club also includes 9-hole golf course with beach views, “East meets West” restorative massage therapy, private beach picnics, tennis on a lighted Wimbeldon-Tex court, guided archeological hikes and nature walks, deep sea, reef casting, and handline fishing, glass bottom boat excursions, total body workout in an air conditioned fitness bure, billiards, bocce, and boules, professional croquet on the David Niven court, swimming in a freshwater pool or in the many lagoons, village church services, native dance pageants, and kava ceremonies, and traditional Fijian or Western-style weddings. The Club’s wedding package provides and includes everything.
