Villa 1017 in Provence, France

This beautiful old stone farmhouse is situated in heart of the French countryside in Western Provence on the outskirts of the village of Sanilhac. The property is located in completely unspoilt countryside and is surrounded by the areas of the Gorges de L’Ardeche and traditional French vineyards and fields of fruit trees. It therefore offers many walks and views of outstanding natural beauty.

The villa has been restored with taste and incorporates many original features such as the old beamed ceilings, tiled floors and a traditional stone fireplace. It also offers modern day conveniences like a well equipped fully fitted kitchen with a large American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and hob. There is also a large living room and dining room as well as a family room which boasts a full size snooker table for those wanting some more energetic activity.

Sanilhac is perfected located for sight seeing. It is 15 minutes drive from the Pont du Gard and it is well within an hour drive from the famous towns of Avignon and Nimes. Slightly further South is the Camargue with its wild horses and flamingos and Montpellier. A short 10 minute drive from the house is the beautiful medieval town of Uzes where there is plenty of local shopping and it is well known locally for its bustling Saturday market on the Place aux Herbes. There is also a large selection of restaurants and bars.

The house itself has a central staircase offering two separate bedroom areas. The master bedroom has its own ensuite shower room and a further large double bedroom is located next door. It has its own shower room directly across the corridor. The other wing of the house has a double bedroom and a double bedroom with two single beds both these bedrooms share a large full bathroom. Located on the ground floor there is a separate annex with a bedroom suite offering a large double bedroom, dressing room and full bathroom.

The house and its garden face full South therefore benefiting from sunshine throughout the day, however there is a delightful shaded terrace in front of the living room and dining room which is perfect for meals or even an afternoon nap away from the sun. The swimming pool is directly in front of the house. In all this villa can offer an opportunity to experience true rural French culture.
